Vinetasters: (mostly) Oregon chardonnay and pinot noir (Skokie, IL): #26-05, 7% abv. 2426. From half-bottle. Served double blind. Quite a distinct botrytis note here, and a relative lack of acidity had me thinking something like a Zind-Humbrecht SGN from the mid-1990s, and certainly not riesling based on a relatively neutral profile. Some orange peel and marmalade notes that seem more like botrytis elements to me.

AP Nr. 5 174 079 26 05, 7%, €40.00 (375ml) A very clean, honeyed nose. Very precise, searing palate. Very deep and concentrated and complex. Perfect balance. Exceptional.

Deep golden with amber hue. Intense and complex enough for an outstanding rating. 5/13/18/10.

Blind Tasting Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in an "Old World" Style (Holiday Inn - Skokie IL): Double blind. Didn't quite show Riesling character, but rather seemed like an unctuous and fun ultra sweet wine. Fresh and dried apricot here with bits of earth from age, good+ weight, ending with a long, bright, balanced finish.

Stunningly good wine. A kaleidoscope of flavors; rich, yet balanced; always changing. Compelling now, but should only get better.
