Wine of the month for November (even though we had it in the first week of December). With truffle Parmesan pasta at home. Reaffirms to me that it’s all about producer.
Decanted. No sediment or meaningful bricking/ Great nose that had depth that evolved over the two hours we had it open. You know you love it when you find yourself lifting the glass just to smell it throughout the meal. Flavors were in lovely balance with a long finish.
Great qpr at $45 using wine.com shenanigans.

Coming along nicely following the slightly mute bottle 3 years ago. Now showing notes of grilled bacon which underpin the delicious red fruits and lovely sweet oak whilst fine tannins cosset the palate in a most charming way. Texturally subtle and understated with a deft silkiness on the finish.
oak and raspberry on the nose and palate. Some earthy notes beginning. Medium body, dark brick color. May not be ready yet, the oak still dominates for me.

Needs a good decant. Light and brisk with beautifully judged oak. Potential is there but not really ready yet. Try again in 2021
