Opened one hour in advance (mildly annoying wax capsule). Limpid, pleasant aroma of currants, mint. Clean, pure flavors of spicy black fruit. Blueberry in the finish.
Attractive, well put together, enjoyable. I had this with a cumin flavored beef dish, and neither the cumin nor the beef were an optimal pairing - a more Western styled chicken or pork dish would have been a better choice.
While I did like this, it lacked the vibrancy and liveliness I have experienced in other Pastor wines. Maybe it's this wine, or maybe a bad day for this particular bottle ("bad" in this case being relative).
