Bought 6 of these around 8 years ago. The first bottle tried too early and was tight and tannic - quite ungiving but the potential was evident. The first bottle yesterday was (sadly) corked, but the next was just fine. A fairly loose cork fit, although no sign of leakage on either bottle, nor the remaining ones. Might have expected better from this house ! Opened and decanted back into its bottle (no deposit) at 11am (following other commentators' advice on here) Started tasting at around 2.30pm from a restaurant decanter, so plenty of air given and glad I did as the wine kept opening up all afternoon. The colour is now going into secondary phase with a brick edge, but still dense black/red at the core. The bouquet is also now in secondary phase, showing lovely depth and savoury sweetness from the 70% Grenache dominant blend. Some tar and sweet leather notes, light spice, superb oak integration and wonderful refined intensity through the mid and back palate - all tasters admired the excellent length and persistence of flavour. I had a magnum of 1999 that I enjoyed immensely about 5 years ago (+/- 20yo), so will probably drink my remaining three bottles over the next 5 years. Really a style that I like here.

Color is still bright red to purplish with no sign of age. Nose is dark berries. On the palate, blackberry, garrigue, with hints of oak and chocolate on the long finish. A very elegant wine. Decanted 90 minutes before serving, but continued to open up in the glass. Served with grilled rack of lamb.

This really need some air, yet never really came around - as much as I had hoped. Dry, vertical, quite strict in style, very good local feel, lacking just a bith of the generous fruit, you could have expected - will live on, certainly, not sure what it will become.

Delicious Gigondas, with red fruit, spice and pepper, well balanced and long dry finish. Paired with chicken vesuvio, and it was really good.
