Burgundy Geek Night (Mark's House - Portland, OR): Lots of savory notes on the nose with some broth, spice and dried floral notes. Surprising how open this was. Nice structure, red fruits, earth and some brown sugar. Very yummy.

clear ruby red, no signs of aging. started out with lots of matchstick and herbal notes opening up to rich dried cherries. strong hit of iron in the mouth along with herbs, dried cherries. fairly delicate and light texture with a very traditional profile. still tastes quite young but delicious. look forward to seeing how this develops overnight. very nice. *** poor thing keeled over on day 2.

Evolved rim; Complex savoury sous bois and wild strawberry; Great weight and texture. Licorice and spice on the long finish.
