In a fantastic place now--much better than when I last tried 4 years ago. Was great on PnP but continued to grow and evolve over 2 hours drinking from a decanter. Awesome stuff!

Decanted for one hour. Nose of black raspberry, blueberry, mocha, spice and crushed rock. Black and blue fruit, mocha, vanilla cream, spice, crushed rock and fine tannins on the palate. Waves of flavor leading to a very long finish. Excellent depth and balance. Full bodied. Drinking beautifully. Served with reverse seared filets and Béarnaise sauce.

Wine gathering at RJ's; 4/4/2023-4/7/2023 (South Carolina): Expressive nose displaying intense black fruit, crème de cassis, blackberry liqueur, blueberry concentrate, cappuccino, tobacco, lead pencil, caramel and mineral. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of intense black fruit, super rich and opulent, perfect amount of acidity, strong mineral, very fine tannins and a long concentrated black fruit driven finish with a hint of lead pencil and cappuccino at the end. This has everything that one looks for in a Napa cult cab.
Popped and poured. Beautifully balanced, with hints of vanilla running through the wine. Fruit still going strong. I would venture that the wine could go for several more years

Hitting its stride now. Better than bottles I have had of this wine a year and two years ago. A great wine by Mike Smith.
