Same notes as last bottle The higher score reflects the moment in time. Light dinner of clams and mussels in white wine, crusty bread, pretty summer night, and family together for dinner. Point is the wine is an enjoyable value

Lovely wine. Pear and citrus zest. The spicy oak is in balance. A great mouthfeel that is rich but not cloying. The finish is long. Really good value. Drink up

A private lunch (The Goods Shed Restaurant, Canterbury, UK): From the same owner as the Domaine du Château de la Tour and vinified there. Ripe citrus fruit and juicy stone fruit, hints of earth and flowers, savoury oak, fine freshness for a 2012, lovely minerality, good flavours and length. Benefits from its location high on the hill in a vintage like 2012. A complete and attractive package, très Beaune.

Tasting the wines of Château De La Tour with François Labet: Sesame, poached pear, orange peel and a waxy note. I like the mouth-feel, there is power in the fruit but the structure and acid give it good balance. Will age over the short-medium term. Plenty to like about this wine.
