Red fruit, lots of spice and pepper, full mouth feel....lots to like here. Add a nice long spicy finish...this is a good classic Bella zin. Glad we still have a couple more bottles, know zin lover friends to share one with.

Purple hues in the glass coming clean with a whiff of alcohol. Bold and richly structured paving the way for huckleberry, herbs de providence, and smokey cappuccino. Midpalate shows it youthfulness which I like, accents of tea and cedar. Tannins hold strong and fleshy, yet very soft mouthfeel. Served at room temp. Lovely wine.

I really like this. Wonderful structure and texture with full fruit, but not forward. I like the tightness on opening, which opens up in a half hour. It never loses the slight bite on the finish, which keeps me from scoring higher. But an intriguing and very delicious zin. More evolved than my last bottle a year ago, so I suspect this will be just right in another year or two. But no need to wait!

Understanding that this is a traditional zin, we were very disappointed with this Maple Vineyard wine. Very astringent and out of balance with minimal fruit certainly not what I would expect for a 2012 wine. Unfortunately we still have 10 bottles left. Was just a bit better the next day. I think we'll let this cellar for a few years and see if there is improvement.
