Tasted on day 2. Dark garnet color. Fully mature. Some stewed red fruit on the nose. Some currents. Sour notes. Tannins have faded but firm acidity provides balance and plenty of grip. Red fruits are still shining though on the mid palate providing some lift. Dark cherries w/ a hint of chocolate? Good persistence. Very interesting. Quite a bit going on here. No rush to drink these up.

Had a taste at a wine maker dinner where they did a side by side with his dad's Weinbau Vineyard Cab and we all loved it. It was a wine that was wonderful with food pans without. Very nice.

while not a tasting note .. I expect this wine to be very similar to Januik 2011 Red Mountain. Andrew worked from his father for many years. the blend profile is very close to his fathers. I will be opening them side-by-side to compare the differences between father and son.

Still going strong. Cab typicity, blue fruit, silky texture, long finish. Good stuff.
