A deep ruby color on the rim - deeper still in the opaque core - greets the eye upon entry into the glass. The nose is soft with plum, smoke, cassis and chocolate. The attack is much the same, but the flavors lack distinctness. The fruit remains abundant, but lacks focus. The tannins are soft and integrated. Surprisingly, the acidity is high; sharp even. For a Petit Verdot, the mouthfeel is somewhat light; the entirety of the wine is medium. The finish is much the same as the attack, but with the chocolate taking over. Very linear and lacking complexity, this wine is a bit of a let down. Some sediment in the final pour. 12.8% alc. With grilled (beef) burgers. Recommended with reservations.

My last bottle. Nose is rally lovely even if a little tight. Body is medium and the tannins are just a little bit rustic. Flavors include receding berries and unsweetened black americano coffee. The rusticity of this wine makes it work really well with garlic and rosemary and vegetables.

Beautiful wine with dark chocolate and berry fruit, esp raspberry, on the palate. Nose is tight with something smoky. Body is medium to full and there is a light bacon fat aspect along with velvety tannins. Very nice wine.

Rich deep dark chocolate and espresso. Lovely on the nose. Strong tannins that give a little bit of black tea fit this wine well. Strong acid backbone that don't seem as integrated as previous bottle. The acid reminds me of a cheap chianti. That's the downside. The upside is that this time the wine is showing really intense smoky unsweetened black licorice along with that acidity. With char-grilled meats or spicy black beans and herbs would really be a stand-out. A really nice wine.

This is an amazing wine, full of depth and complexity. Rich, ruby color and a basket of purple fruits and violets on the nose. Delicious.
