  • Love this stuff. Impressive aromatics. Red fruit, savory notes, and a silky texture round this out.

  • Not sure if I'm experiencing a lot of bottle variation or a wine that's very alive and evolving in bottle. Maybe both. This bottle is excellent, elegant even. Nose has powerful sweet ripe cherries, incense, white pepper, smoke, and orange rind. Palate is a bit less full bodied than most PVs with nutmeg and an earthiness that sits on the knife edge between fascinating and too much. Works well with rich and hearty foods. Chewy tannins don't show until the very long finish.

  • Nice. Earthy and ripe fruit on the nose. Creamy and easy palate. It's just not showing the complexity that this wine can achieve. Finish is "more or less" if not a bit short.

Seems like the winemaker tried to keep this wine restrained when it should have been big and exuberant. The end result is fair-to-middlin'. Nice enough. This winery has so much more potential.

  • Really liking this wine, but I'm experiencing it differently than just two months ago. Nose has sweet cherry, smoke, white pepper, talcum powder, and a powerful sweet toffee note. Palate is medium all around with big red fruit, more cherries, dry earth, red fruit notes, very fine sweet tannins, incense, and a sweet butterscotchy note. Intensity is medium but the wine is beautiful.

Down note is that I'm sensing a high degree of barrel or bottle variation.

  • Love this wine. Floral, spice, and red fruit on the nose. Nicely balanced on the palate with black pepper, nutmeg, and cardamom, with tannins that are just reaching “grippy.” Had it with spicy food...so it’s hard to note fine flavors, but this wine stands up to challenging and unusual foods while just getting tastier. Petit Verdot’s floral side and red fruit flavors shine through with this wine.
