Sealed with a (black!) Nomacorc. Dark orange colour. Faint nose of orange bitters. Palate entry shows prominent oxidation (but not too much) and plenty of oak, then there's a mid-palate burst of acidity. Flavours of sherry, oak, and almond, with emerging notes of grapefruit, coriander seed, and clove. This is a complex, fascinating, well-balanced wine. The prominent oxidative note might be off-putting to some, but I didn't find it overpowering, and it gave the wine a great point of difference.

By the glass via Coravin at The Gym, Lefkosia, Cyprus. This was truly impressive and world class. Even though we try to avoid oaked assyrtiko this was indeed something special. A touch of soft oxitative side, bright citrus, evolved fruit, firm acidity and a softness on the finish curtesy of the oak that made this a superb experience, this is a must try for assyrtiko lovers. 93

Medium goldish. Intense nutty/smokey nose with flinty minerals, grapefruit. Medium + body, concentrated complex balanced and layered, very good assimilation of the oak. It has a mid-palate quality that you don't find easily in Greek wines at least. Excellent Santorini.

At a nice point to drink but with a long life ahead. Nutty, citrussy, mineral, complex, balanced and long. What more could anyone expext from a sub 20 euros barrel fermented white?

Second time I had this wine in a short period, and once again it seemed to me like Greece's answer to a fine Chassagne-Montrachet premier cru, with its nuttyness along with citrus fruit, flinty minerality and green apple notes. Medium to full-bodied, balanced, complex and very long. Great wine.
