Garnet red with a tinge of brick at the edges. Red fruits with a bit of floral on the nose, light but rich and complex body of spice and red fruits, no green notes at all, nice long finish. This is very fine, and others with poor experience may just have had a bad bottle or bad storage.

From 75cl perfect cork, a bottle of impeccable provenance, P+P and followed over 2 hours. Mature, orange tinge almost 1 cm to rim. Black cherry menthol cough sweets on the nose and the entry; well-developed green-hard tannins and unpleasant cold bonfire wood-smoke (mixed with last night's unemptied cigarette-ashtray) on the entry and mid-palate (both taste artificially sweet); consommé and saline towards the finish. All this complexity doesn't actually make this a particularly appealing wine. Drink up in the next 1-2 years. (86-)88P for evident heroism in a dud vintage.

Pale/medium garnet, pale garnet rim. Some attractive, pure strawberry fruit, but also distinct peppery notes, becoming more prominent with time in glass. Medium bodied on the palate, showing spicy red fruits, white pepper, herbal notes, fresh acids, some savouriness on the medium length finish with some sandy tannins showing. Definitely affected by the vintage trait, though drinkable.

wow! No green notes here. Power waves of lush cherry kirsch. Baby Amoureuses! Probably at peak.
