Young, QPR not there, would not buy more or again. Value aside, has a lot of potential, after 45 minutes started to open very nicely. All the tells of a Paso Robles syrah. Tannins soft, full bodied, nice finish. Chocolate, dark fruit, pepper, some floral - violets?. Too young for much if any nose. Overall very decent, but not compelling. Unique bottle shape gets profile points with Egyptian motif but really tough on storage.

I was disappointed given the nearly $100 price tag. I decanted for about 1-1/2 hours and found this wine to be thin, weak and a bit bitter. I can agree with the pepper notes - harshly so with limited fruit to balance it out. I really do not see it cellaring at all . . . the bottle I had was already gone. Maybe I just got a bottle that had been left out in the sun??

A deep, powerful and rich wine. Bold, highly extracted flavors of black fruit and blueberries with a long, lingering finish. The bottle says its "Rhone-Style" but this is New World winemaking at its best. Pair with hearty food. Modest tannins mean it's hard to see how aging will improve this wine. Ready to drink now through 2019. 14 barrels produced. 15.2% alcohol.
