Enjoyed the bouquet of red fruits and cigar box, but on the palate it was all minerality and iron, on a short finish. The wine went through ups and downs over the course of 4-5 hours of being open. At $13.50 I might try it again just for fun, but I wouldn't stock up on these.

Day one, raspberry and redcurrant on the noste. Mostly black pepper on the palate, dominating over other flavours. That happens with Cab Franc. Easy to drink. Vacu-vinned. Day two, more balanced. Nice and dry. Definitely needs decanting and lots of time for aeration. Went well with food. I might buy again and open it a day early. $13.50. Overall value: 3.5 stars of 5.

One of the better Chinon's I've tasted. On the lighter side, with good fruit, structure and balance. Earthy, with minerals. Very approachable now.
