Had out at dinner among some other Chardonnays and this one was the "biggest", roundest and ripest vs. a N. Italian and a Burgundy (St. Aubin). On PnP the oak was present, but it settled in nicely and drank well, and pairing fairly well with a couple of dishes, but it was not a notable wine, seeming like a good / very good California Chardonnay, whereas I was hoping for something a bit more "Burgundian", thinking Santa Cruz Mtns would provide a cooler climate and more complexity. Still, quite nice. The ~1/4 left in the bottle to the following night was good, but had fattened and flattened and became a touch harsh with some bitterness.

This must have seen less new oak than previous vintages because it is rocking right out of the gate with a nice nose of lemon curd, golden apple, tangerine peel, and a nice mineral component. On the palate rich but not heavy with meyer lemon, apple, fig, toffee, and citrus peel. Long finish with great balance. Best Chardonnay yet from here.
