Nice, transparent color. Quite light. Reminds me of a spicy Beaune or extra spicy Volnay (hah!) right now. Agree that this is on the cusp of developing some nice tertiary aromas— if the fruit and body can support it. Thankfully, the older sawdust aromas of a red wine in decline are nowhere to be seen. It will be interesting to see where this one goes.

Very light and elegant. This is the second bottle I've opened since November 2022 and I am still amazed at how light pinot is. I tried a 2011 not long ago and it was much more powerful. Maybe this is just in a dumb phase or this was the style John was going for. So far it's my least favorite Thomas Vintage.

Heater week; 3/26/2023-4/3/2023 (Chicago, IL): This is wine more about potential than enjoyment right now. The fruit is clean and precise, but the palate feels slightly attenuated, and you can clearly see that the secondary characteristics are about to emerge. Probably the most profitable to revisit this in at least five years.

What an excellent Pinot Noir. I popped this about two hours before we starting drinking and just left it in the bottle. Very much a Burgundian style of Pinot which was much different from the 2015 I had earlier in the week. I think it's in a great drinking window and has many more years to go.
