Brown Bag February: Wines that Made You go "Boom" ... (Boomerang, Boat Quay): Tasted blind, flight 2, 2nd of 3 wines. Lots of leather on the nose, along with sweet fruits, herbal and cola undertones. Smooth and good acidity, with leathery fruits dominant the palate with some sweet fruits underneath. Medium soft finish. Some like this for its elegant and complexity but too much animal and leather for my palate.

Vintage Australian Wine Tasting (Extra Space): 90% Shiraz, 6% Grenache, and 4% Mourvedre. Chalk on the nose continuing onto the palate. Made me feel like I had a chalk-board duster in my mouth. Extremely dry on the tongue. Where are the fruits? I feel that this wine is past its prime, either that or it could just be an off bottle.

Smokey throughout, licorice, pepper and dried fruits with Italian herbs . Brooding and dark , sweet fruited and piquant and spicy cutting finish .

Our bottle is drinking great, so surprised to see the previous comments. Minty notes combined with classic Shiraz dark fruit

Seems to be past peak, with the alcohol dominating what's left of the stewed fruit compote of berries and plums. A disappointment.
