Pours dark purple and vibrant, not giving away much bottle age in colour or on the nose. The nose is savoury leaning, meaty, spicy, herby and green. A bit of dark cherry and musk too. Medium bodied palate, starting to see some age here, fruit is not vibrant with the first impression of spice and licorice, some cherry/cola and vanilla come through with more air. Acid is still reasonably high so. Tannins are very soft and well integrated, but still coat the mouth and provide a dry finish.
All in all, a very enjoyable drink. Well balanced and lovely soft mouthfeel, acid and tannin holding up well. Not as progressed as I expected, would be interesting to compare to release. A bit plain to be really memorable or score higher.
Also, not as punchy or full bodied as I expected for Cornas, although I only have a few comparisons. Not in itself a detractor, but if that's what you're after might pay to look elsewhere. Perhaps related to the vintage?

not a typical massive, meaty, rustic Cornas that I would like, but well balanced. As with Chapoutier wines, this sits strongly on the fruity side, with decent acidity. Just a hint of more savory profile would make it more complex.

Probably left this a little too long for us, but still very complex and tasty wine!

I like this one. It is à very soft fruity Syrah with a long balanced finish.
