2015 ZAP Trade Tasting. Nose of simple, red cherry fruit, dusty earth, and pepper, more of the same on the palate, medium body, well crafted but not even close to Zinfandel yet alone great zinfandel, medium finish. $15 suggested retail and I would skip it.

Popped and poured with dinner. An interesting blend of Zin, Syrah and Grenache. An enjoyable red wine with an assortment of leftovers.

Not that complex, but very pleasant. ($12, Bottle Barn, Santa Rosa, CA)

Needs an hour or so to come together. Black fruits and spice. A little menthol as well. Good, inexpensive sipper.
