Drank as a coravin pour over zoom a month ago, and finished the bottle today. At the first tasting I was impressed by how well this showed up for the 2013 vintage, although medium weighted it still had an intensity of flavor and good acidity. But I felt it needed more air time than I gave it, or some food, to be truly enjoyable. This time I opened it 6 hours in advance which allowed the wine to show much better. So much fruit on the nose, not quite as much on the palate but the tannins softened and there was a really nice long ocean spray cranberry finish. Really really nice. I will look for more of this very drinkable second label from Ducru. (Btw—I was surprised by the mention in an earlier view that it looked like a cheap bottle. I don’t pay so much attention to labels, but I thought this was really beautiful. I guess like all things wine related, we all have our own preferences)
Very nice nose. Deep garnet color. Great balance of tannins and acid. Muted dried black and red fruits. A bit of pleasant herbaceousness and baking spice. For a second label, a very good Bordeaux.

I was expecting more from this wine. A little too light for a St. Julien. Must be because of the vintage. Lots of tannins and little fruit showing.
