  Tuesday (Chicago, IL): I liked this a lot more ten years ago, apparently. This is ripe and opulent, and carries weight from both Meursault and the vintage. Comes across a little phenolic, with relatively low acidity for a white Burgundy. Feels like it's getting long in the tooth, mostly due to the lack of acidity. Drink up.

  Welcome Back Kelvin! (Kelvin and Joyce's Place, Bishan): This was so very enjoyable. Served blind side-by-side, most people on the table preferred the more minerally, focused 1996 Leflaive Clavoillon, but I actually though this was every bit as good. It had a lovely nose, rather developed, with wafts of honey and some caramelly notes over more savoury tones of white meat, dried lemon peel and kumquaty fruit. Some light wafts of honeysuckle followed along at the side - very attractive. The palate, while not quite as bright and well-cut as the 1996, was still very fresh and lively. However, this also had a nicely developed feel to it, with round, mellow tones of yellow fruit and apple sauce dripped with honey and spice, all beautifully integrated into a perfect, harmonious whole. There was very round, creamy Meursault feel to the whole package, and where the Leflaive was perhaps more immediately impressive and attention grabbing, this was no less complete, and maybe even more pleasurable. Beautiful depth, weighty, yet effortless, it ended with a brighter, more lemony finish that gave the wine a little lift. It was deceptively mid-lengthed at first, but unfolded nicely with time into a long drift of chalky mineral and spice. Lovely stuff, and quite right for drinking now.

  HDH Auction (Tru - Chicago, IL): Lithe aromas of melon, flint, and lemons. The palate was a bit gummy at first, but with some air and patience it fleshed out a bit and featured beautiful stone fruit, minerals, lemons and limes.
