Monthly Tasting Group HWS #099; France: Northern Rhône, Viognier (By CvR): The wine stays on the lees for 11 months, is raised for 30% in new barrels, for 30% in 1 - 5 year old barrels and for 40% in stainless steel. The yield is 35 hectoliters/hectare. The wine has an aromatic bouquet with blossom, honey, banana and peach. On the palate soft yellow fruits, litchi, anise and a touch of citrus. Some soft bitterness in the finish. Very good wine. Ready now and the next few years.
