Roses and tar, some dark cherry and dark berries. Aromatic and well balanced. Still very tight and tannic, needs at least an hour of air. Should keep for many years to come.

Fresh red fruit bursts on the nose, with rose petals and spice right behind. There is almost a caramel element.
Lush cherries and strawberries on the fruit-forward palate, but alcohol, acid and tannins are all there in balanced harmony. Finish is long and linear. This should lie down for quite a while to see development, but it is lovely now.

I'm too strict of a traditionalist when it comes to Barolo so I wasn't expecting to be so taken with one that uses barrique. Fucking graceful attack that simply does not falter through the tons of wild cherry, rose, and licorice. It wants to be full-bodied but it's just barely medium, as Barolo should be, and that tension gets the roasted meat, damp forest and tangy mineral vibing just right. It needs the brown spice and tannin from the oak here for balance, and as a 2010 it's already settled into harmony which is impressive. Long, long, dark red fruit on the finish where the licorice takes on more of a smoky and savory tone, winding down feeling satisfying and complete. Has at least another 15 years in it, maybe 20 or more.

lovely young Barolo. reddish color traditional of the region, flavor profile was mostly driven by the dusty tannis, also some roast beef notes.

Nice moderately priced Barolo. Still young. No formal notes
