A perplexing bottle. Nose is pretty faint with more heat than anything else. Palate is dense and much heavier than I was expecting without much nuance and balance. Hopefully just a weird bottle.

The Bjornson vineyard showed the darker and richer side of Pinot, with crushed black raspberry, sweet spice, fresh earth, and balsamic tones showing on the nose. On the palate, it was rich with tremendous depth to its dark red fruits and spice, yet there was a balance of acidity which pulled it all together. Rich fruit seemed to saturate the palate throughout the finish, leaving the impression of a large-scaled wine, yet still fresh. In the end, it may not be what I’d expect from an Oregon Pinot, but it was undeniably enjoyable from the first sip to the last.

The Traveling Brisket and Helmet Show: Big, bruiser of a wine. Ripe red fruit - even leaning toward black cherry. Rustic mid, rich and full of life. This is a big - but well managed beast. Over time - more cherry, starting to lean red. On day 2 - still showing rustic and brash flavors, delicious and so good with food. Def showing the colors of the vintage. long and tart finish with some pepper. nice!

Big full bodied and ripe, good acid. Blackberry black cherry long finish. Actually paired well with duck wings. Good
