  • Eðalklúbbur, vínsmakk #4 vor 2016 (Marbakkabraut 12): Það mætti halda að spænsk vín væru öll eins á litinn ef mið er tekið af þremur fyrstu vínunum sem við smökkuðum. Þau voru reyndar öll svipað gömul. En allavega þetta vín er frekar lokað í byrjun. við þyrlun birtist smá anís og einhver nefndi táfýlu (ekki meðmæli í mínum huga). Í munni dökkir ávextir, smá sæta og góð fylling. Flott jafnvægi, finnst fyrir tannínum. Í lokin kom svo smá lakkrískeimur.

  • The wine is made with a blend of all seven grape varieties that are allowed in the official Rioja blend (Tempranillo 55%, Graciano 15%, Garnacha 15%, Mazuelo 7%, Viura 5%, Malvasia 2% and Granacha blanca 1 %). Each grape variety is fermented separately and aged separately in new oak (Granacha in american oak and the rest in french oak) for 36 months. The wine is then aged for another 18 months in bottle before release.
The wine is very powerful and spicy. Blackberry, blueberry, vanilla, cinnamon and pine are dominating the nose. Primary fruit and spices are transferred to the palate. It is a full bodied wine with a lot of concentration that is lasting on the palate. Even though the wine has a good percentage of white grapes the tannins seem quite stalky.
