  • Slo-oxed for 40 minutes, but continued to improve with more air. Medium violet to a faded rim in the glass. Lots of bright red and dark red fruits on the nose. These same bright and dark red fruits followed on to the medium bodied palate, along with some spice and a touch of earth. The acidity is lively but balancing, any tannins are well integrated, and there was just a touch of heat on the finish. It seems as if this wine can hold for another year... maybe two.

  • A Russian River Pinot that gives many French Bourgogne a run for their money, but at half the price. Rich, lively fruit and some nice, but understated spice.

  • A chameleon wine- started big, well balanced with big fruit and tannin, not hot despite 15% alcohol. Over a few hours it got sharp, and somewhat unbalanced but mellowed nicely at the end. Surprising to see a pinot pair well with brisket and spicy food- a great wine.
