  Picked up this bottle for the novelty of the find if nothing else, I did not have high hopes for how this would be drinking but was quite surprised. Fill level was sitting in the neck at a great spot, and the cork had held up better than expected. After a quick decant to catch the sediment this wine was a tawny garnet color with wet garden soil, fresh tobacco and rum raisin on the nose. Much less fruit on the palate that was defined by fresh tobacco, soil, and a fresh mineral note. I have tasted wines that have totally fallen apart in well under a decade so it is remarkable to see how well this pretty affordable bottle is doing at nearly 30 years old.

  interesting to have an aged bottle of this, as it has held up well, still displayed fruit, but was completely smoothed out, soulful and earthy, had with tomato basil pizza
