NB: my bottle was a Marks and Spencer wine, made for M&S by Yealands Estate under contract, 'Single Block Series R3, Awatere Valley, Pinot Noir'
This was much better on the 2nd day. On opening - popped and poured, no decanter time - a decent Marlb' Pinot Noir but rather simple with no complexity or real personality. Won't be buying again.
C....bright
N....impressive: big red/black fruits, some oak; some intensity
T....light to med body; good acid balance to the fruit; some length, ends near-dry. Too simple.
2nd day it was softer, fuller, seemed richer fruit though the acid was still balancing it; no herby/bramble complexity here nor forest floor, but good fruit all the same. Can only say it needs proper decant with prolonged swirling or left over-night to air, even then still only a 87/100 wine for me.
VFM?....feels £10

Attractive semi sweet barnyard nose. Soft, smooth tannins, velvety integration, ripe cherries and flowers on palate
