Highly mineral driven, like sucking rainwater off rocks. Zesty, citrus fruit, though not full on. Very tart finish. Maybe not my style, as it seemed a little too lean for me.

Hello lemon. Compelling bright fruit driven nose with a hint of oak and vanilla. Rich palate with more lemon, confit, and long well balanced tartness. Great balance and poise, perfect with afternoon Raclette. A bit richer than I expect from this vineyard, but perhaps the vintage?

Fun with Pucelles and Amoureuses (Hughes House - Chicago IL): Served alongside the 2018. Apple and tropical fruit but without the sweetness too often associated with tropical fruit. Also faint botrytis hints that add nuance in the background. Layered, complex and intriguing, this wine keeps getting better each time I taste it. Almost everybody enjoyed this even more than the Leflaive 2013 in the next flight.

Puligny-Montrachet les Pucelles - blind tasting 1998-2011: Initially closed, opened more and more in the glass (make sure you decant or wait). Nose of white flowers, lemon, some corn, crisp, palate. Still young but classic and precise. Can add a point or two when mature. 93+

In an awesome place and drinking seamlessly with the botrytis adding a well-places accent and complexity to the wine. Won’t get better from here.
