A visit to Sandro Fay (Valtellina, Italy): Tasted at the winery. 100% Nebbiolo planted at 450M in the Sasella sub-zone and named after the Wisteria flowers that grow in the vineyard. Aged in barriques, approximate 20% new, 80% used. 13.5% ABV. Beautiful crystal like mid ruby color. Menthol and white flowers on the nose. Initially a wall of tannin on the palate. Redcurrant, cherries and raspberries come through. Far too young at this stage but certainly shows promise. 90+ pts.
