  • Picked this up from a shop around the corner. Not as well versed in Pomerol but I decided to try this one. Decanted first about an hour or two. It’s an alright red, not too much depth to it. Starts off with some light red fruits that disappear quite quickly and some select secondary flavors try to poke their head out as well. There is a heavy mouthfeel to this wine. Finishes very short. Tannins are mild and this appears to be in its drinking window at the moment.

  • Balanced- decanted 2 hours. Old study, mushroom, wet earth, plum- a fairy’s playground.

  • 75/20/5 Merlot/Cab Franc/Cab Sauv. Medium plus nose is pretty, dried flowers, earth, baking spice, pencil lead, cigar box, espresso. Palate matches with earth, dried fruits, but still with a freshness to it, red plums, raspberry, blackberry, forest floor, hint of gravel. Finishes dry and smooth. Tasty and excellent QPR that Lalande can be known for.

  • Good aroma and flavor when first opened, though texture was disjointed, thin and tannic. After 3 hours of air, everything came together well.. filling out and smoothing out. Classic Bordeaux aromas and flavors of black current skins, graphite, and perfumed wood spice, with notes of worn, black leather, black cherry, resinous herbs and gravel. Medium-full bodied, with balanced acid and fine, dusty, dry tannins. Enjoyable. Highly recommendable for price point. Decant. Pair with savory red meat.

  • No formal notes. Light weight with some creaminess, main red berry fruits and ok acidity and tannin. Will not buy again.
