  Surprised to be writing maiden note on this! I love a bit of age on my Stellenbosch red and this doesn’t disappoint. A little brick red maturity and yellow at the edge. Nose of slightly burnt, over stewed fruit, behind that some vanilla notes and roses. Still very full bodied (14.5%), oak to the fore, finish goes on for minutes. An unsubtle full-throttle typical SA red, a style that I happen to love in its time and place. Bravo!
