Littorai Release Party (Littorai, Sonoma): Oxidative (browned apple, apple butter), butter (diacetyl), toast (lees), yellow apple, hazelnut. Tired on the palate, with very little varietal fruit. This seems over-the-hill.
When I think about the fruit vibrance and lack of oxidative character in the '05 Fichet, I have to think this is just over-the-hill. A good Chard at this stage shouldn't be dominated by this level of acetaldehyde.

Honeyed peach and bitter almond/marzipan nose. Pretty minimal acid. Some angular flavors of golden apple and lime sherbet are relatively quickly forced out by a more rounded finish that is somewhat nutty but mostly creamy, evoking sabayon. Clearly peaked a while ago, but still delicious and impeccably made.

Flavorwise think peach, golden apple, a touch of mango, a little mint, and fine french oak that shows as chamomile tea, a hint of baking spice, and creamy vanilla. At first rather earthy and phenolic to the point of being bitter, but that fades with air. Good acidity, creamy medium weight, quite nice without ever really wowing.

Nice lemony flavors, initially high acidity but then puts on more depth and weight. The balance is there so it will be interesting to see how this develops with age.

Seems rather over the hill. Too caramelized, little fruit, a bit of a petrol taste/odor. Still has acidity and a not dominant tartish entry ad finish.
