Second encounter with Clemensbusch GG Riesling and actually quite similar in style and balance. It was nice to drink a mature GG with fully developed aromas, very much on the savory side with aromas of herbs, celeriac as well as some fruit. Very rich texture and somewhat concerningly low acidity. Surely this wine went through malolactic fermentation. I found that it caused the wine to lack a little in focus and tension. Without a solid acid backbone, the wine lacked a little clarity. This is clearly a stylistic choice though. Not bothered by the slightly deeper hue. would buy again, but not entirely sure this would be recognized as a Riesling in a blind tasting.

Enjoyed it with pork schnitzel, potatoe salad and pickled spicy cucumber. A perfect match for this golden, aromatic and dense yet fresh wine. For me, obvious ripe green apple, some pineapple and nail varnish remover on the nose. Extremely smooth with a lingering and even finish.

Clemens Busch Masterclass with Clemens Busch: From younger vines (up to 30yo) on grey slate. Florals, slate and light earthy herbs. Fairly approachable on the palate, the wine does have finesse but there just isn't as much interest or depth as some of the other GGs at the tasting. Decent at the entry level but shown up by the wines at its side.

Vinosphere Tasting: Lemon tart, orange, slate. Palate has quiet style, composed and classy.
