Mid to deep gold - almost looks sweet! Quite evolved on the nose with white flowers, honey, kerosene, lime and hazelnut. A delicate entry, the wine has a fair but not crisp acidity with good intensity and fruits of lemon honey and acacia. VA is a little evolved, with a phenolic grip on the shortened finish detracts from its quality.

Honey and candied orange peel nose made me think of a botrytised auslese. Ripe stone fruit and complex on the palate , but short finish. A bit different than I expected, would try again.

(Clemens Busch Pundericher Marienburg Grosses Gewachs) This and the next wine are Clemens first two Grosses Gewachs since getting into the VDP. What a debut! Killer nose of deep, layered minerals and pungent tangerine oil notes. The palate was complex and powerful with thrilling inner mouth perfume. Lovely purity. If there was one fault the alcohol skooched out a teensie bit. Otherwise a brilliant wine.

Corked. Medium deep yellow. Not sure what it says, but 7/8 of bottle was still consumed, despite its flaws.
