Blend of Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. The bottle was definetely overaged. However, it was still drinkable. The Savigiovese was the dominant grape I was tasting.

This bottle was treated shamefully. It was forgotten in a kitchen cupboard for eight years at normal house temperatures fluctuating between 65 and 76F, with fluctuating humidity, and left standing vertically to boot. Although I had no reliable sample to compare to, I thought the color had browned a bit from what it would have been in its prime, so I'm marking it flawed. Yet there was no taint of corking or vinegar, as I've encountered in some other wines kept shorter times in poor conditions. It was still drinkable. There was nothing bad about the wine. However, neither did it stand out in any way. I'd give it a 79, though perhaps I should add a couple of sympathy points simply for remaining drinkable under such adverse conditions, and probably far longer than this wine was ever intended to be kept.
