1986 Bordeaux plus some supplements (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): Double decanted about 6h before. Clear, pale golden color. Beautiful fresh and youthful nose with some rhubarb, orange zests, lots of crushed stones and some sweet fruit. For me, 2011 Hipping GG from KPK is one of the most exciting wines of the vintage. The Hipping R can’t deny its heritage and has wonderful tension, depth, energy and mineral notes. But it is not dry, more off-dry with 13% abv and some warm ripe fruit. That makes it a bit “chubby” and not as precise as its dry brother. It goes well with food and I am curious to see, how it tastes in 10+ years, when the residual sugar has blended. Nevertheless, a wonderful length. 93+

Notes from 3rd day after eto. Medium dark yellow. Sweet orchard fruit bouquet with a touch of flinty minerality on the nose. Incisive attack, quickly builds through a bittering amalgam of citrus flavours to a full bodied viscous wine with a long final inflected with minerality. Sweetness is apparent but nicely balanced by the acidity. There is a bitter note - like apricot pit - that intrudes on the final along with some heat and just mars the finish somewhat.
Complex, full throttled Riesling that goes well en apperitif but may be better with food. I'd try this with Thai curries, strong cheese dishes and shellfish in rich sauces as there is quite a cutting acidity on offer here. My first of a stash of 12 and look forward to my others over the next 10-20 years. Have no doubt this will make old bones.

Ganske moden, vil tippe ca to tredjedeler i modningskurven. 18 g sukker merkes nesten ikke, ville tippet en tørr GG i blindsmaking. Ørlite petroleum. God konsentrasjon og eleganse. Ettersmak på 30 sek.

Stunning bottle of wine. Beautiful and complex nose dominated by peach and pear with some honey notes and wet stones minerality. Powerful and lightweight at the same time. The palate is more of the same with a featherweight elegance through a long finish, backed up by tropical fruits. This wine was relatively sweet (probably a feinherb) when released, but sweetness and acidity is now in perfect balance. Drinks remarkably well now, but still a lot of life left here.

Rich and hefty Riesling aromas. Rich, concentrated and velvety in the mouth, with lovely, pure fruit. Semi dry, with balancing acidity.
