Sharp and full-tasting. Needs to breathe. This would be smashing with lamb stew or other big, meaty meals, especially Basque. Not the right choice for something like pasta or even sitting around with cheese. We had it with burgers, which was fine, but not the perfect match. Think stew.
This is a wine that could age for years, I would think, but it is fully drinkable now (2012 vintage).

Bright ruby; blackcurrant pastilles, brambly; grainy tannins, marked acidity, an attractive rawness gives an untamed feel; a sour edge adds to an assertive finish. Drink now & next 3+ years.

Dark red. Gravel and stone laced with some dark red/blue fruit aromas. Medium tannins and quite fresh. No new oak and alcohol feels low or well integrated. Decent but nothing special. Wanted to like this more than I did.

Very green and earthy nose full of cherry seeds and a little VA together with red, mostly primary fruitiness. Tart acidity, distinct bitterness with stalky tannins. Medium intensity and decent length. Nothing subtle or elegant here. Got a bit of old school character but mostly disjointed and raw. Hard to see any potential neither.
