  • Gorgeous stuff. Vegetal and floral, so many leafy nuances, beautiful sweet red and black fruits too. Energetic and fresh on the palate, strong acids and supple tannins. Brilliant stuff. I love it.

  • Nose: Sweet tomato leaf, barnyard must, prunes. Palate: More tart fruit than the earthy, oxidized nose suggests; sour cherries, mild green pepper, and a hint of fresh strawberries, polished tannins and a nice acid bite. I tend to like young tannic wines, and while I've never had anything from this producer before, I was surprised at how approachable this young blend of Tannat (55%), Cabernet Sauvignon (15%), and Cabernet Franc (30%) was right now. The tannins were much softer than I expected from a Tannat-dominant blend.

  • Always a fave, this vintage is friendlier than usual: more fruit, less herbs, iron and stones.... still quite earthy and wild, it features beautiful aromas of blue plum and red cherry, graphite, dark green leaves, wet tobacco, lamb fat, paprika, iris, rosehips and a suspicion of Dr. Pepper. Copious juicy fruit on the palate, medium to full-bodied, tangy and a little grippy, fine tannins, a bold acid line, gorgeous inner perfume of cherries, herbs and flowers. Finishes brisk and vivacious, with blue and red fruit, dark leaves and flowers melding beautifully alongside a clean wet stone note. Hard to say if this will have much of an upside, but I don't see it fading for at least a few years.
