From magnum, decanted 2 hours before drinking. Deep green golden, incredible brilliance. Classic and very expressive and intense nose dominated by green apples, lime, chalk with slight notes of vanilla and wood. Full bodied attack with a searing acidity at the front. The midpart elaborates the fruity tones of apples and citrus with soothing vanilla tones, the whole balanced by wonderful acidity. The finish is salty and chalky, almost like standing on the sea shore, and very long. This is just a stunning version of a great Chablis. Drink now as I think it is at it's peak (in magnum), but this will keep for ages.

Well made under difficult conditions; but there’s too much fat and not enough acid. I expect this will drink well for 8-10 years, but lacks the structure to improve. Big, rich, pears, and stone fruits, just needs the acid to hold it together. Try with sole, or eggs. I had it with home cooked chicken fried rice and it was excellent.

The Verticals Tasting at 2020 La Paulée de New York (Eventi Hotel, New York): Slightly deeper tint than the 2014. More obvious wood on the nose. Bright bitter orange, some saline brothiness. Properly dry finish. Although I preferred the lacier, less oaked 2014, this was also excellent in the context of the year.

Good but is lacking a bit of acidity and freshness.

La Paulée de New York - The Verticals (Eventi Hotel - New York NY): Walk around tasting from magnums. 14/13/11 vertical. Good weight and length with lots of apple and while I like the effect of a little botrytis on white Burgundy, I fin it too pronounced here.
