Although the Champagne got a bit lost in the T-day dinner, this was outstanding. Great age on this, still youthful but mellowed, good complexity with soft sauteed bell pepper, sweet leather, foresty notes, smooth, soft tannins, good lift. Great time to drink this and excellent with the braised short ribs (not the spring rolls!).T-day w/American and Vietnamese food.

Very green and vegetal -- but somehow in a good way -- even though I am not usually a fan of those flavors.

past it's prime? simplistic berry fruit, not much tannin anymore. where's the underbrush and the leather? should have opened a year ago.
