It was my night to cook for my wife so I made pan seared halibut steaks, broccoli risotto and garlic bread. All came out quite well and the wine paired nicely. Much lighter in body and alcohol than our usual style but all in all very good.

A decent 2013 Oregon Pinot, which honestly isn't saying that much. Yes, some of the better-made 13s wound up getting really funky and Burgundian on the nose, but that isn't enough for me to get really excited. All of them seem to have a little bit of a hollow mid-pallate and short acidic finish and this one is not an exception.
This one has pie cherry, rhubarb and cranberry along with some savory notes. It's about as enjoyable to drink as it is to eat pie cherries chew on rhubarb and pop raw cranberries. It is what it is. For me this is not a testament to the winemaker (who I definitely see as more than capable) but rather, a product of the very unfortunate and difficult vintage.

Really drinkable right now. Blackberry and huckleberry and coca cola along with light tannins.
