Best one yet. Just noticed the DIAM 10 corks. I might try to just let my last one alone as long as possible to see what happens. But 8 years on a bourgogne blanc is pretty amazing.
This hasn’t missed a beat since my last one 4 yrs ago! Super fresh still...loaded with citrus cut energy, crushed minerality giving a nice salinity and geology funk...sulfur doing its job well with its integrated match strike...richer mouthfeel than a BB should. Really dig this!

I don't like to leave a billion notes on the same wine but I want to mention that, with the bottle variation I've noticed, this one was a bit flat. At first. But on day two it opened up and deepened quite a bit. Never had one make it to day two before, and this was surprising.

These have been wildly variable, some sublime, some with overwhelming struck match that wouldn't dissipate. This bottle was on the sublime side of the equation. Just gorgeous. A whiff of matchstick, a palate comprised of lemon, grapefruit, melon, a hint of apricot, some of that saline/minerality/seashore stuff, mouthwatering acidity, and a totally pleasing viscous mouth feel. No sign of oak. A bottle that makes me wish I'd opened it with my wine geek friends, but that also makes me glad I don't have to share it with anyone except Mrs. Sunnylea.

Not as vibrant as the others. Great match stick but on the other side, a little flat. Still good QPR.
