(Bourée Pierre Fils Charmes-Chambertin) Medium-pale colour. Very much like the 1996 the nose has tons of complexity - again that core of red fruit shining through - lovely just to sniff. The palate is not dense, yet manages to be packed with flavour and complexity. In some respects it is still a little unruly, and certainly needs a few more years of maturation for 'charm' but was anyway great fun.

Couleur brique claire, nez et bouche sur les arômes tertiaires de sous-bois, bel équilibre, tannins quasi fondus, acidité légère. Un beau vin qui me semble à son apogée - j'avoue que je les aime un tantinet plus jeunes car à ce stade, les vins se ressemblent beaucoup. Pas d'oxydation toutefois donc à point.

Very light for a grand cru. Really elegant and complex, though. Perfume, red berries, some stables and a hint of oak.

Dark garnet. The nose is lovely; soft and beguiling with complexity and lovely meaty, tobacco notes. Delicate and pretty on the palate with lovely balance and a velvety mouthfeel. Maybe a little tight still but very enjoyable.
