  • fresh red fruits, it has an important sweet touch to it, this is usually associated with a lot of alcohol but not in this case, not the best QPR

  • Opened with relatively low expectations (I've tended to find their wines a little plush & superficially polished). However this very much impressed and possibly helped by serving at a more medieval-like 'room temperature'.

There is a strong creosote element to it, but it works here better than any other instance I've encountered. It think it might be the profile of the somewhat balsamic but vibrant fruit that makes it work, giving the fruit an interesting savoury edge. It walks the tightrope very well.

Decently supportive acidity and stealthy and quite plush tannins giving further grip. Impressed enough that I'd happily buy this vintage again, but not entirely convinced I'd enjoy it through the ups and downs of vintage variations - it really did feel like this walked the tightrope perfectly.

  • Full body, intense and lovely. Dried berries and scent of wild fruit , juniper, tobacco and espresso.
Marvellous with olive oil & rosemary seasoned strip-loin.

  • Dark Burgundy in color, Strong aroma of cooked jam, dark berry, dark cherry. Also aromas of earth dirt and a bit of smoke on the nose. medium acid, full body and strong tannins. Medium finish, with flavors of dark cherry, berries, a bit of dark chocolate.
The wine looks inky colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis), blackberry, blueberry, prune, raisin, petrol, mineral, burnt, bark, black pepper, petrol and chocolate. It tastes like raisin, prune, cherry and chocolate. The body is medium/full. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.
