Confected fruit on the nose with smoke and heat. Rather disjointed medium bodied palate with sweetish fruit notes, smoke, wood, salt liquorice and roofing felt. Heat. Pretty nasty stuff with both acidity and alcohol gone loose.

A portugese varietal grown in South Africa. Decanted for more than one hour. Rather pleasant nose of dark fruit, chocolate and a little oak. Light to medium bodied, showing a bit reticent dark fruit with a light kiss of oak. Smooth and firm acidity/tannins rendering the palate a nice balance. No scorched rubber flavors that I often find in S.A. wines. This was a nice surprise. A good quaffer and decent food wine but a bit overpriced at Alko.
