This is good, especially for the vintage, but I just had a glass of the ‘01 Le Chiuse which kind of leaves this a little in the dust.
That said, given the limitations of the vintage, this is a good effort. Bright red fruit on the nose, which carries through on the palate. Very nice, if less than outstanding.

Old world and aged medium bodied. Copper and brick color. Decant for 3 hours. Oak with flora as the top note. Cherry, plum and slight hint of herbs as the secondary. Slightly higher in tannis still with medium acidity. Will be even better after next few years, when the tannin mellow down.

Ripe red fruits on the palate - this was a hot year in Brunello, and in my experience the wines are already showing signs of maturity - a vintage for current drinking while your 10's and 06's round into shape.
The nose is brooding, a mix of earthy red & black fruit. Very likable tonight, but less than stellar.

Lunch at New Ubin CHIJMES. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Tasted blind. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of sweet red florals, nectar, red cherries, stony minerality. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.5%), silky smooth medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of red cherry essence, sweet red plum, stony minerality, polished earth. Long finish. Very good quality. Lovely nose, and then the silky mouth-feel. Not a whole lot of depth though, so I was guessing a very well-made Rosso di Montalcino, may be about 5-6 years old. So turns out to be this Tre Vigne - In the harsh 2009 vintage Salicutti chose to make one blend of Brunello, made from the three lots Piaggione, Teatro and Sorgente.

I had this a couple months ago, but this bottle seems to be showing better. Ripe red and black fruit on the nose.
Decent acidity for the vintage, and nicely balanced. I don't see this improving much with additional time, but what it is today isn't bad at all.
