4 years since last bottle. In a nice place now. Nose has dark berries, black banana peel, caramel, sous bois with a touch of game blood. Taste begins silky black fruits, prune, with a metallic following close behind. Metallic taste is brief then the dark fruit lingers. Dry finish, not too tannic. Splendid with food. Another bottle left, no hurry.

Much better than the last time we had this wine and vintage, and definitely a food wine. Decanted for 2 hours before dinner, and took sips while preparing and cooking the meal. At first, it seems like fruit wanted to be present. Fruit such as red raspberry and tart cherry. The tannins were smooth and almost velvety and the wine finished dry. Primary flavors of mild tobacco, minerals, earth and some cedar. The wine thins-out towards the finish, and finishes long and dry. Great value, but would only buy to have Castillon represented in the cellar. We still have a 2016 in the cellar for the future.

PnP in one night with friends. Enjoyable. Tannin well integrated, goodly amount of oak, but not over bearing. Enjoyable and good price point at $25.50 discounted. Buy more for M-F.

I like this a lot. Very dry, old world style with richer fruit and nose than the 2010 vintage. In a good spot right now
