Decanted for about 3.5 hours. Not great notes. Pronounced red and black fruit. Dark and dense in the glass. Medium to full in body with medium tannins that really mellowed with the decant. Long finish. Drinking really nicely right now.

Fantastic wine for the price. Drinking really nice now with a decant. Right at first but opens nicely to black and red fruit. Medium tannins. Can go longer but drinking perfectly now.

Drank alongside a 2013 Robert Craig Spring Mountain Cab. Paired with Truffle Herb crusted lamb chops w dauphinoise & charred broccolini. The bottle opens with lovely mellow fruits - hints of blueberry and lite vanilla notes compared with the intensity of the Spring Mtn Cab. Left open for 3 hours in bottle before decanting 90 mins prior to dinner.
Pre dinner notes were of rich, mellow dark fruits and a medium finish a hint of oak/vanilla at the end and mellow tannins with minimum acidity. Pre-dinner votes went to the Larkmead for its smoother flavour profile. With dinner things turned around a little but only just. The Larkmead's fruit playing off the lamb and the creaminess of the dauphinoise really nicely but with less acidity to cut through the food as well as the RC Spring Mtn. We concluded they were both fabulous and served as a great contrast for valley vs mountain fruit 10 years ago. Happy to have a few more of these yet. These may be the last of my club membership wines before I left Larkmead a while back. Good times while they lasted - I always remember fondly our times w Colin and Sonny and the team!

Similar notes as this past January. 3 hour decant and drank over two days: Rich and concentrated, round tannins, smoked black fruits, herbs, toast. Definitely getting better with some age. Great QPR.

Drinking perfectly. Okay, I know, nothing is perfect, but this was close. Red and dark fruit, cedar and leather, with wrappy, dusty tannins.
